OWNER & DESIGNER
Lisa’s foundation in design began on construction sites with her father, fostering a deep understanding of three-dimensional space. After earning an Architectural and Civil Drafting certificate from UFV and spending seven years at a building design firm, she transitioned to interior design to satisfy her creative drive. Now, with BCIT training and over eighteen years of industry experience, Lisa combines technical expertise with artistic vision to lead the talented KCID team.
Lindsay Mills
PRINCIPAL INTERIOR DESIGNER
Driven by a lifelong appreciation for spaces that blend beauty with functional organization, Lindsay earned her Diploma of Interior Design from The International Academy of Design & Technology. For her, design is a rewarding challenge that allows her to truly help people. She specializes in building strong client relationships to craft tailored, unique environments—ensuring every project is highly functional and perfectly suited to the individual, down to the very last detail.
Chalet Hegeman
INTERIOR DESIGNER
​Chalet’s lifelong passion for art led her to a Residential Interiors Diploma from BCIT, driven by a desire to integrate aesthetics into functional, everyday experiences. Since joining KCID in 2022, she has honed her technical expertise in 3D rendering, a skill that has become a vital asset to our team. By bridging the gap between imagination and reality, Chalet brings client visions to life with stunning visual clarity - ensuring every design is as exciting and inspired as it is useful.
Jennien Venema
OFFICE MANAGER & ACCOUNTING
With a decade of hospitality management experience, Jennien brings a unique blend of high-level service and organizational precision to KCID. Holding a Hospitality diploma and a bookkeeping certificate, she is the firm’s backbone—thriving on spreadsheets and streamlined procedures. Beyond the books, Jennien translates the team’s creative energy into managing social media and marketing. Her adaptability ensures a seamless, professional experience for every client.
Sarah Larson
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
As the first face you see at KCID, Sarah brings a proactive, welcoming energy to our office. A former Educational Assistant and true go-getter, she thrives on keeping operations running smoothly - from managing essential errands to assisting the team wherever needed. Sarah’s love for puzzles makes her an invaluable asset in meticulously organizing our sample library, ensuring our creative environment remains as efficient as it is welcoming.

our story
KC Interior Design was founded in 1996 by Kathy Renwick. What began as a small business in her garage evolved into a respected design studio rooted in resilience, creativity and community. ​
By 2004, Kathy was sharing office space with a building design firm, where she met Lisa, a talented junior designer with a flair for innovative design. Impressed by Lisa's creativity and expertise, Kathy welcomed her to KCID in 2008. When Kathy retired in 2018, Lisa purchased KCID, continuing a client-focused approach.
